Title: Residential Computer Consultant (RCC)

Description: UCSD ResNet needs students that enjoy helping people AND have experience with computer hardware, software and networking. Applicants must be familiar with TCP/IP, a variety of operating systems (Windows, MAC OS, Linux), and installation of computer hardware.

All the technical knowledge in the universe is pretty useless if you can't communicate in a supportive manner to a confused, inexperienced customer. EXCELLENT customer service is a high priority, so great problem solving and listening skills are a MUST. Applicants must work well with others while having the maturity and initiative required to work independently.

RCCs provide customer support over the phone and in the residence halls and apartments. RCC's must commit to mandatory, paid training before students move in (September 11-12, 15-19). RCCs must also be able to work 40 hours during "Move In" weekend and "Welcome Week" (September 20-24). RCC's make 13.00/hour and work between 12-20 hours a week. Jobs end after Fall quarter, with the possibility of being rehired for Winter/Spring.
