Title: ACMS Help Desk/ResNet Technician

Description: Academic Computing & Media Services/ResNet needs male and female students that enjoy helping people AND have experience with computer hardware, software and networking. Applicants should be familiar with TCP/IP, a variety of operating systems (Windows, MAC OS, Linux), and installation of computer hardware. We are also looking for programmers. If you have limited experience, but a high level of interest and determination to learn, apply!

All the technical knowledge in the universe is pretty useless if you can't communicate in a supportive manner to a confused, inexperienced customer. EXCELLENT customer service is a high priority, so great problem solving and listening skills are a MUST. Applicants must work well with others while having the maturity and initiative required to work independently.

ACMS Help Desk technicians provide customer support at a walk-up center, over the phone, and in the residence halls and apartments. ACMS Help Desk technicians must commit to mandatory, paid training before students move in (September 09-11, 14-16). Student technicians must also be able to work 40 hours during "Move In" week and "Welcome Week" (September 17-23). Technicians make 13.00/hour and normally work between 12-20 hours a week. Jobs end after Fall quarter, with the possibility of being rehired for Winter/Spring.
